Each year, more than 450 thousand hospice volunteers give more than 20 million hours of service. Volunteers are instrumental in the life of every hospice. Hospice of Wyandot County offers many opportunities to “make a positive difference”, whether it is providing companionship to a patient, giving light housekeeping assistance, running errands, assisting with office support, or joining fundraising events and annual projects. A hospice volunteer who is a veteran brings a unique level of support to another veteran in hospice care; some volunteers offer pet or music therapy, adding another element of comfort at a difficult time. We provide training and never ask someone to assist with anything they are not comfortable with. Volunteering with Hospice of Wyandot County can be a richly rewarding experience. Please contact the Hospice office for more information about volunteer opportunities.
