                                 People say you have to let go and move on in your life, but they don’t tell you what you need to do to accomplish that. The Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program not only makes that possible, but provides partnerships and guidance to ensure that it happens. If you are interested in attending an 8 week group focusing on Grief Recovery, please call the office at 419-294-5787 to reserve your spot.   Group size is small at this time.  WE WILL be meeting at VAnlue Christ United Methodist Church, 121 e. main st., Vanlue, oh starting Wednesday  July 8 -Aug 26 from 5:30pm-7:30pm            Bereavement Offerings Summer 2020

Support Groups

Note time change and location change

Are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm at John Stewart United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 130 W. Johnson St., Upper Sandusky (enter off of 7th St). These groups are facilitated by Becky Greene, Hospice Social Worker.  A presentation on a variety of topics relating to grief is shared, followed by discussion. Upcoming dates:

Lunch with Friends

A monthly social at We Luv Yogurt in their back room to allow for social distancing. This group offers support and companionship for those who have lost a spouse or partner.  Participants must purchase their own meal.  Please RSVP at 419-294-5787.  Upcoming dates:

  • August 11 – We Luv Yogurt
  • September 8 – We Luv Yogurt

Community Education

Hospice of Wyandot County provides community education on many topics.  We are available for community organizations, businesses, and faith institutions

Children’s programs

Bobby’s Books – a program for helping children cope with loss using children’s books and creative activities.  Hospice of Wyandot County has certified staff who can provide training for adults who work with children and would like to expand their knowledge and skills to help children cope.

individual care

Grief Counseling is available by appointment by calling Hospice of Wyandot County at 419-294-5787.  Individuals may meet privately with a grief counselor or chaplain to receive one-on-one grief support. 

Mission Statement Hospice of Wyandot County exists to provide an alternative to acute care for the terminally ill and their families.  The focus is to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of an incurable disease so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice affirms life, however, acknowledges death as a normal event.  Hospice is not about dying; it’s about how you live.    
Hospice does not have the power to shorten or prolong    life, but the power to live it as we choose.
